AISCO SS500 and AISCO SS550 Stainless Steel TMT Deformed Steel Rebars (Grade G – 410L Ferritic Stainless Steel)

Grade G (410L) Ferritic Stainless-Steel TMT Deformed Rebars are a new-generation reinforcement solution designed for exceptional corrosion resistance, seismic safety, and long-lasting durability. These rebars are engineered through the thermo-mechanical treatment process combined with the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, making them ideal for everlasting performance in aggressive environments.

Standards Compliance

  • Indian Standards: IS 16651:2017 (Stainless steel for concrete reinforcement).

  • American Standards: ASTM A1035/A1035M (Grade 80, also known as “MMFX Steel”).

  • Additional References: IS 1786:2008 & IS 13920:2016 for ductility and seismic detailing.

Material & Metallurgical Features

  • Grade G (410L Ferritic Stainless Steel):

    • Low Carbon + 11–13% Chromium.

    • Provides excellent corrosion resistance in chloride- and sulphate-rich environments.

    • Ferritic structure → low thermal expansion, good toughness, stable microstructure.

  • Thermo-Mechanical Treatment (TMT):

    • Rapid quenching → martensitic surface.

    • Self-tempering → ductile ferritic stainless-steel core.

    • Results in strength + ductility + corrosion resistance.

  • Anti-Aging Performance:

    • Retains strength, ductility, and toughness over decades.

    • Resistant to microstructural degradation (no embrittlement with time).

    • Often referred to as “Everlasting Rebar.”

Mechanical Properties (Typical)

  • Yield Strength: 500–650 MPa (ASTM A1035 Grade 80 range).

  • Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS): ≥ 1.08 × YS.

  • Uniform Elongation: ≥ 14–16%.

  • Corrosion Resistance: Superior to carbon steel & alloy TMT rebars; excellent in marine & chemical exposure.

  • Fatigue & Seismic Resistance: High ductility ensures energy absorption in dynamic loading.

Advantages

Anti-Corrosion & Anti-Aging: Withstands aggressive marine, coastal, and industrial environments.
Everlasting Durability: Service life of 100+ years with minimal maintenance.
Seismic Safety: Retains ductility for earthquake-prone structures.
Lifecycle Savings: Higher initial cost offset by very low maintenance & repair costs.
Sustainability: Fully recyclable, reduces environmental impact by extending structural life.

Applications

  • Marine & coastal infrastructure (ports, jetties, offshore platforms).

  • Bridges, metros, flyovers, and highways in chloride-rich zones.

  • Dams, tunnels, and long-life critical infrastructure.

  • Industrial plants, chemical facilities, desalination plants.

  • High-rise buildings requiring everlasting reinforcement.

AISCO SS500 and AISCO SS550 Stainless Steel TMT Deformed Rebars (Grade G – 410L, IS 16651:2017, ASTM A1035/A1035M) deliver anti-aging, everlasting performance with superior corrosion resistance and seismic safety. By maintaining strength, ductility, and toughness over decades, they ensure durability, sustainability, and long-term structural reliability in the harshest environments.

High-quality stainless steel reinforcement bars that meet IS 16651:2017 standards, Grade G (410L) ferritic stainless steel reinforcement bars are designed for longevity and strength in construction. specifically designed for demanding applications in coastal areas, ensuring longevity and reliability in construction and engineering projects.

There is a growing trend among Indian specifiers, which is quite evident in the highway sector, to use stainless steel because it is seen as the most economically viable, corrosion-resistant reinforcing steel alternative for use in service environments typified by chloride attack.
